Editors Letter: June Issue
As a FASHION EDITOR, I often wonder to myself…Whats New In Fashion? Well, what’s new in fashion is whats old! I’ve seen so many references to past eras in many collections featured this year. Dsquared featured their collection which was reminiscent of the beach scene of the 1950’s, but revamped with bold colors and gleaming pucca shell accessories. Then I saw YSL collections and couldn’t help but notice the throw back silhouettes and cuts from the 1980’s. Ok, fine…fashion in a sense is a circle, just like the wheel. What people must understand is that fashion is not about “reinventing the wheel”. It’s about creating an fabulous more beautiful “wheel”. For the month of June I’m all for reinventing beauty. One mans junk is another mans treasure is how the old saying goes; I will be showing you just how creative you can be by taking items deemed used and turning them into up to date renditions of trending fashion. I urge all fashionistas to REACH and actually work that brain to come up with cost effective chic wears that will surface year after year for generations to come! Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with “FAD” shopping, but by no means should you’re entire wardrobe consist of it. What I mean by FAD shopping is clothing that you know probably won’t stand the test of time (or even the washing machine) because it’s either shrewdly made or apart of a one hit wonder trend (like the pheasant blouse). Thankfuly you have me! I will be updating my Quirky Bombshell Style Methods page so that you may never fall victim to reckless shopping again! I always say
Clothes you wear over and over again…FASHION you wear once! – Me
Depending your style and budget; take it literally or don’t. The point of the quote is to express that real fashion should be highly invested in and taken care of. I would even go as far as calling fashion statement pieces, not just the little black dress, but other items you wouldn’t consider basic.
Along with DIY projects, I will also share insight on popular collections, and of course FASHION SHOWS I ATTEND! Yep, it’s a full schedule for me this month, but I will be thinking of you every step of the way. Know that I will be providing you with articles that inspire and inform. Oh, and since June is the month of weddings, I’ll be sure to post an article about how to dress as a guest! QuirkyBombshell.com will soon be adding photoshoots specifically for the site. Everything will be more tailored for the quirky individual in you! Until then, keep following and I will surly keep you up to date on anything new in reference to my site as well as fashion!
