Another great fashion show! I had the pleasure of attending the Fashion Beats Cancer Fashion show held downtown at HOBI HOUSE OF BLENDED INK at 300 Oakland Avenue. All the guest wore white including myself, to show support in raising awareness to the St. Jude Foundation. The show was actually inspired by God. The young lady above is 14 and diagnosed with cancer. To be so young and strong is really remarkable. The evening was lively with delicious appetizers, live entertainment and of course fabulous fashion! I met a lot of great inspirational people as well as talented designers. Thank You Janeka for hosting a successful and motivational event!!!

Editors Letter: July 2014

I love summer! there is so much to see and do when the weather is warm. When it comes to fashion, there are some clothing items that are just an absolute must. Denim shorts…yes…sunglasses…of course. All of these things have the power to lift an outfit completely out of the doldrums. I plan on being very occupied this month, I am attending one or two fashion shows, and will also be posting actual videos on my channel. I love being a fashion editor more than a video editor, but for you (my readers and subscribers) I’ll be both. I plan on writing a lot more too. I’m actually planning on posting at least once a day. As I make more discoveries about fashion, I intend on sharing with you my vision and inspirations. I had the opportunity to travel to Washington and was really impressed with what I saw in terms of street fashion. Yes, the fashion savvy individuals that inhabit the streets of Washington D.C are amazingly trendy and surprisingly approachable. A trend that I saw constantly was the High-Waist denim shorts trend with sexy silhouettes and creative styling. I was also impressed with the vintage stores I visited. I found a great dress at Buffalo Exchange and then went to Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream for my favorite flavor…Chocolate fudge brownie! Well, enough about my trip, lets talk fashion! The sports trend is hitting the mainstream fashion stores hard! Who can resist wearing athletic socks and sexy pumps? Yes, it looks as though sporty socks with Nike, Adidas, Fila, or Reebok logos and any sort of feminine pumps is in high demand. The whole “Haute Athletic” vibe has been rampant throughout the fashion industry lately. Not only that, but humorous graphic patterns and best friend tees are in high demand too. Looks like the 80’s continues to reign supreme as the most iconic era of fashion. I’m not saying that just because I myself am an 80’s baby. Collections such as Saint Laurent, Moschino, and Rodarte feature dresses with that 80’s silhouette too. Speaking of 80’s inspired silhouettes; What about the Peplum? There are so many versions of the peplum blouse and dress. I love how creative some people can get when styling them. I’ve seen lace peplums with neon undergarments; which definitely mimics the Reveal and Conceal trend. I like when some peplem tops have the loops for a tiny belt, it gives any look so much versatility. I like fashion that is challenging; meaning outside the box. For some reason, I’m really into color! Busy patterns with bold bright color. I’m also loving Fuchsia Pink and Petrol Blue. Honestly, I can’t wait until I get my hands on some real designer footwear. I’m not a “Matchy Match” person. I like experimenting with different looks, or combining things that normally wouldn’t go together. I manage to pull off the most eccentric looks, but that’s only because I try. I urge women and men in everywhere to step outside their safety zone and be bold! That’s what Quirky Bombshell is all about; being fashionable and daring. This month is off to a great start!

The story behind this…

So recently I went to a Fashion Show in Downtown Atlanta. I will be posting my photos from that event soon, but before I did that I wanted to post this picture. Now, I know you’re probably wondering what the story is behind this cake. Well here it is: After the show I went walking down the street right at the corner of Peachtree street and couldn’t help but take this picture. After I did, a couple eating alfresco at a restaurant close by informed me on how this mystery cake came to be. According to them, A woman was carrying the cake on a flat Tupperware or tray. Evidently she just got tired of carrying it and flipped the tray over…PLOP! A perfectly good cake completely wasted. There are people in other countries who haven’t had anything to eat in days, and here we are, in America doing this nonsense. And you know what the sad part is? There was a trash can right next to where she dropped the cake! Really? if she was tired of carrying the cake, why not PUT IT IN THE TRASH CAN! lol Anyway, I just wanted to share this little tidbit. Sure, it’s not fashion related, but this was too weird not to share.

The Dream Fashion Show…

Hello my readers,

I had the lovely pleasure of attending The Dream Fashion Show in Atlanta Georgia in the Atrium at Colony Square on June 14, 2014. This was a very swanky affair, with stylish people from the music and fashion industry. There were complementary beverages and delicious cupcakes created by Ethel Rose Bakery; every bite is made with tender love and care! The fashion show was hosted by Devyne Stephens and Miss Georgia Globe Tiffany Marshall. The Dream Fashion Show was also an opportunity for people doing amazing philanthropic projects locally and internationally to explain what their causes entail. Honorees Kandi Burrus, Chanita Foster, Shanti Das, and Penna’E  were special guests at the event. They all are passionate about their charities and are truly inspirational to all in their pursuits. There was even a Spirit of Honoree Presentation! I definitely had a good time tweeting and Facebooking the event all night long. Here are a few of my favorite pics from the fashion show. I hope you enjoy!
