Frustration and Inspiration?

I just had to share my early days of fashion sketching with you guys, because although I was a rookie, I still did a pretty O.K.  job. Inspiration is a funny thing. For me it’s something that’s constant and becomes a jumble in my head, but when I start writing down what I’m thinking or start drawing the objects floating around in my head; everything starts making sense, then BOOM! The boom it a sort of enlightenment I get when my vision comes to fruition. I’ve only ever been sure about one thing… whatever I do as a successful entrepreneur will involve fashion somehow. For me the industry has always been a constant. It’s because there is SO MANY different passions when it comes to fashion. Whether it’s color, sketching, fabric, production, sewing, knitting, presentation, marketing… the list is endless, and there’s even jobs that have yet to be discovered. When your multi-talented, it’s so difficult to choose just one. What I’ve found it that I  can’t classify myself into one sector of fashion or “position”. I love to create, and doing that everyday is something I would be happy with. I’m just creative and fashion is the medium  I use to translate my vision. So with that said, you’ll be seeing a lot more of my creations soon enough. :) later

Quinn Couture vs Quirky Bombshell

Hello my readers,

If you have been following my site, you’ll notice that I’ve probably changed the format like 10 million times. I’ve been too busy trying to please everyone but myself in terms of what I should write about and how. The reality is that there are SOOO many fashion sites and it was difficult for me to find out how I would stand out, or what I can offer my readers that no other fashion site could. Well, after flip flopping for years, I decided that the only thing I can offer is my perspective, my point of view, and my world.  I’ve decided that whether the 9 to 5 world has a POSITION in fashion for me or not is not my concern. This year I’ve decided that I will be working in fashion whether I get paid to or not! I’ve decided that I was going to create my own fashion empire. See here’s the thing, there are soo many things that I’m good at in fashion that I just can’t choose one, so im going to do everything and anything i want in fashion through my site! Interestingly enough my first passion was not fashion… It was writing. I loved writing and still do of course. Not only was it my outlet, it was my floating doughnut in a sea of sorrow. Fashion was second, and I decided to combine them both by blogging. Fashion was a world introduced to me by magazines. I LOVE FASHION MAGAZINES! I even remember my first magazine; Teen Magazine. I read that mag till it was ragged because I grew up poor and couldn’t really run out and buy one anytime I wanted. Till this day I still remember the smell of that mag and even what fashion trend was in at the time; Bright neon shirts with khaki pants, shorts, or skirts. The smell was of an Herbal Essence shampoo sample. lol

I’m in a better position now, meaning I can blog more and get into fashion more in terms of writing .. so… I’m knocking the dust off of both and starting up again. This site; Quirky Bombshell is going to be about everything in fashion I love to talk about; Trend Forecasting, Fashion Future, Fabric, and Color Topics. I’m trying to be a Chictopia style Icon which means a lot more of my pics, and me fighting my camera shyness :P Well, that’s the update. Fashion is my passion, and writing. No matter what, I will do both!

Take Care!

What is needed to succeed?

Well opening a boutique takes quite a lit of money and guts. If your serious about your fashion company goals, you have to do what it takes to succeed. If working and doing something else is necessary, then by all means grin and beat it. Having a plan is always smart but it guarantees nothing! All it does is keep you focused on the task at hand.

Research and Rhetoric…

I really don’t need this… that’s what my ego is telling me. BUT of course you shouldn’t even indulge your ego when it comes to business.  Although I went to college for fashion and even traveled for my degree, I still feel it’s important to continue to educate yourself and thoroughly understand your industry.  That’s why I’m reading as much content as possible while planning for my boutique.  Books will help you organize your thoughts a lot better and of course  give helpful insight. I take the info and use what I think will help me progress. Not everyone has the perfect method of doing anything, but reading books like these help me create my own pathway.  I know one thing’s for sure, I do have something great to offer the fashion industry.  In time you’ll see ;)

Food for thought?

As I sit here pondering. Over this chocolate cupcake and this piping hot coffee,  I just can’t help but wonder… Fashion.  Yeah, nothing deep just wondering what my next move will be in order to set up my boutique.  I know what it’s going to be called, why it exist, and who it’s for. The only thing that puzzles me is the order of things. So I sit back and continue to invest myself in fashion and contemplate how I’m going to work my intellect in order to get what I want. I’M PRETTY DAMN SMART!! And so that’s why this challenge is one I’m definitely up for. First things first….  funding. Hmmmm?  Stay tuned $_$
